Job posting: Accounting Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Assistant will support the organization’s daily accounting and financial operations, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. As an integral member of the finance team, the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for tasks such as posting financial documents, account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and supporting internal and external audits. They will handle sensitive financial data with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, basic knowledge of accounting principles and ERP/accounting software, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Fluency in both Greek and English, along with the ability to collaborate in a team environment, is essential.

Position

Accounting Assistant
Department: Learning, Impact and Public Engagement (LIPE)
Reports to: Director of LIPE Department

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, implement, and manage programs for various social groups including vulnerable communities (people 65+, people with disabilities, low-income communities etc)
• Supervise external partners involved in impact programs (educators, psychologists, sign language interpreters, guides, assistants, etc.).
• Monitor program effectiveness and conduct ongoing evaluation (KPIs)
• Prepare reports, funding proposals, and program evaluations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities or related studies
• Minimum of 3 years of project management
• Understanding of accessibility, disability, inclusion, and diversity issues
• Experience/Working directly with vulnerable groups
• Experience in writing funding proposals (e.g., EU programs, national grants, foundations).
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal (Grek and English language)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in relevant discipline
• Knowledge of Greek Sign Language or/and Braille
• Experience in conducting workshops for vulnerable groups
• Familiarity with accessibility practices in cultural institutions
