Guided tour at the Holy Monastery of Daphni

The Monastery of Daphni is considered one of the most important Byzantine monuments in the Greek area and especially in southern Greece, it is famous mainly for the insurmountable mosaic on the roof of its dome depicting Christ the Almighty.

It is located on the edges of the Chaidario grove, to the left of the Holy Road, which has been leading from Athens to Eleusis since ancient times, and on the probably site of the ancient sanctuary of Daphneios or Daphnios Apollo, is the fortified monastery of Daphnios.
