Aphrodite Gonou

Aphrodite Gonou is an art advisor based in London. She holds an MA in Art History, Sotheby’s Institute of Art /The University of Manchester, and an MBA in Finance, City University, London with a dissertation on the Art Market. She has worked at the auction house Christie’s in Athens and at the gallery Sadie Coles HQ in London, and for more than 15 years, she has been advising private collections and foundations including the Kenny Goss and George Michael Foundation, Dallas TX.

Since 2007, Aphrodite Gonou advises the contemporary art program of the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, including solo shows by Louise Bourgeois, Jannis Kounellis, Sarah Lucas, Ugo Rondinone, Stefanos Tsivopoulos, Thomas Struth, Ai Weiwei, Sterling Ruby among others, group shows by guest curators Jessica Morgan and Gregor Muir, and collaborations with DESTE Foundation, NEON, and Radio Athènes. Aphrodite Gonou has served on the board of the Chisenhale Gallery and the Chisenhale Development Committee, and has given lectures at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, and Frieze Academy in London.
