COLLECTIONS

The said parties agreed to cooperate, by any appropriate means, through multiple actions focusing on the research, promotion and advancement of Cycladic Culture in Greece and abroad.

In particular, the MoC focuses on the cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, through the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades and the Museum of Cycladic Art, through the establishment of multilevel synergies aimed at the research and advancement of the Cycladic cultural heritage.

Following the signature of the Memorandum of Cooperation, Minister Mendoni stated: “The Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ministry of Culture and the Museum of Cycladic Art opens up excellent prospects and new paths for the promotion and enhancement of the Museum’s artifacts as well as our cultural heritage. The Ministry of Culture, the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades join forces, expertise and knowledge, routing them into vital joint actions, both for the preservation and protection of the masterpieces of Cycladic culture, as well as for its more systematic study. Hopefully, we will soon be able to present the details of the said initiatives.”

Kassandra Marinopoulou, President and CEO of the Museum of Cycladic Art said: “I would like to thank Minister Mendoni for this historical cooperation with our institution. The dissemination and promotion of the Cycladic Culture and the wider Greek cultural heritage internationally has always been the mission and vision of the Museum of Cycladic Art. The partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades unlocks major opportunities, both for the research and study of the Cycladic culture and for the preservation and advancement of the tangible and intangible assets of Cyclades; a top priority supported by our Cycladic Identity Initiative. Major announcements related to our joint actions will be made soon.”

The Memorandum of Cooperation has a 48-month duration and shall be extended through a new partnership agreement.
