Summer Camp 2022: At the Artist’s Workshop

SUMMER CAMP

JUNE 28 UNTIL JULY 30, 2022

THE SUMMER CAMP

Students will explore everything from the ancient potters’ workshops to Brice Marden’s studio, from the goldsmith’s workbench to the manuscripts of Chinese calligraphers, and from the prehistoric Cyclades and their figurines to today’s artistic jewelry. But our journey will not stop there. Other artists’ spaces will come to life along with their workshops, such as dancers from ancient times and today, actors from Ancient Greece to Japan, and musicians both ancient and contemporary. Ancient dances will blend hip hop, flute, and lyre music with the rhythm of tin cans and broomsticks and will intertwine with ancient masks with the heads of the Minotaur by Pablo Picasso.

The goal of this year’s summer camp if for children to experiment with different techniques and materials, create their own original works, and participate in the production of a group project. Play, improvisation, and collaboration will be integral components of all activities. We will draw inspiration from the Museum’s permanent collections and Brice Marden’s temporary exhibition, which we will visit every day. Day by day, we will gradually set up an exhibition of the children’s artwork that the children will present to their parents on the last day of each cycle. We hope all of our students are ready to play games and have a great time!
