The importance of collections as cultural heritage preservation agents

In this episode Dr. Panagiotis Iossif, Curator of Classical Antiquities at the Museum of Cycladic Art discusses with Dr. Dimitris Plantzos, Professor of Classical Archeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens on the issue of private and public collections in Greece. Looking back at the history of collections from the Hellenistic Era to the present day, the dialogue raises questions about the importance of collections as agents of preservation of the cultural heritage, as well as about the current challenges regarding their proper management by the public and private sectors.
