Photographing the Museum:
An Inclusive Experience
IMPACT PROGRAMS
FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOLS & PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
THE PROGRAM
The program “Photographing the Museum: An Inclusive Experience” is designed for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, aged 9 to 18, and their families, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the museum environment through creativity and personal expression. Within a safe and structured framework, participants are invited to explore the permanent collections, get inspired by the artworks, and create their own “museum”.
By using photography and visual arts activities, the program fosters autonomy, self-confidence, and active participation. It also strengthens the bond between child and family through a shared positive experience.
Over the course of 4 sessions, children and adolescents will:
- photograph the Museum of Cycladic Art collections
- create artworks inspired by the exhibits
- express themselves in their own way within a structured and supportive environment
- curate their own small exhibition within the Museum and present their work to family and friends, experiencing the joy of participation and recognition
