Konstantinos Mouchtaridis

CYCLADIC CAFE ART PROJECT

SEPTEMBER 17 UNTIL NOVEMBER 10, 2025

The artist starts by observing and isolating a part of the landscape, which he then transfers onto the surface of his works, rendering the sensations, images, colours, temperatures and scents of the landscapes from which he draws inspiration. The images are characterised by repetitive layers and alternate colour palettes, inviting the viewer to approach and observe each work closely to reveal the details of his artistic language.

Sunkissed belongs to a series of works that negotiate nostalgia for nature through embodied sensations. Exploring color in relation to materiality, the surface is formed with patches of paint and wax. These spread in layers, creating areas of varying density and transparency, conveying the impression of an ambient experience within the landscape. The intensity of the “scorching sun” functions as both a visual and sensory backdrop, translated into warm chromatic gradations. The work focuses on the dynamics of sight and touch, an unmediated relationship with nature
