JULY 1, 2026
The National Archaeological Museum is the largest museum in Greece and one of the most important in the world. His rich collections, enumerating more than 11,000 exhibits, offer the visitor a panorama of ancient Greek culture from the prehistory to the late antiquity.
The exhibition The Pylos of Nestor. A Mycenaean Kingdom Revealed unfolded as a journey through space and time, from the scattered centers of power to the establishment of the Palace at Ano Englianos, where the kingdom traditionally associated with the Homeric Nestor took shape. This trajectory was traced through archaeological evidence that reflected the wealth, social organization, and ideological concepts of the period.
The guided tour was led by the Deputy Director General of the Museum, Dr. Konstantinos Nikolentzos, and the Curator of the Prehistoric, Egyptian, Cypriot and Near Eastern Antiquities Collections, Dr. Katerina Kostanti.
