Η ΔΡΑΣΗ
Through this activity, the Museum invites all visitors to experience it in a different way by using all their senses—even their breath.
Inspired by Jeff Koons’ iconic work Balloon Venus Lespugue (Orange), 2013-2019, which appears to be made up of inflated ballons and evokes a body that fills up with air as it inhales, as well as the Cycladic figurines with their characteristic hand position below the chest, at the level of the diaphragm, participants will practice diaphragmatic breathing, aimed at relaxation, concentration, and improved sound production. Next, by working with elements such as rhythm, voice intensity, and improvisation, the group will recreate a sea soundscape—linked both to the myth of the birth of Venus and to Cycladic Culture and its close connection to the sea and travel.
In the final section, participants will be symbolically transported to the world of Paleolithic Venus figures and the atmosphere of the cave. Through the practice of breathing and the evocation of primal human sounds, a soundscape will be created that recalls a primordial world.
The use of voice beyond language, through inarticulate sounds and vocal improvisations, allows individuals to express themselves freely without the constraints of speech, and to participate in an equal way, regardless of age, expressive skills, or sensory disabilities.
The activity will include simultaneous interpretation in Greek Sign Language.
