Inside the Dionyssos Marbe Quarry and Workshop with the atelier OnEnthropy

From quarry to studio.

Our Young Patrons and Premium Friends visited one of Greece’s most important active marble quarries, the Dionyssos quarry, to follow the journey of a material that has shaped Athenian architecture and sculpture for centuries.

They explored the geology and extraction, then moved on to processing, craftsmanship and contemporary design. Along the way, they discovered the unique qualities of Dionysos marble, found in buildings and sculptures from classical Athens to the present day.

The visit continued at the processing facilities, where participants saw firsthand how raw marble blocks are transformed, and concluded with a hands-on clay workshop.
