Photography Workshop for Intercultural Schools

EDUCATION

COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

THE PROGRAM

The Museum of Cycladic Art in collaboration with Center for Educational Activities and Intercultural Communication “KARPOS,” will hold three free photography and digital collage workshops in October. The program is made for students from the 2nd  grade of middle school to the 3rd grade of high school from intercultural schools of Athens, giving them the opportunity to explore visual creative expression through digital image processing.

The goal of the workshop is to explore this dual exhibition, which connects two-dimensional and three-dimensional works from two different time periods using imagery as the bridge between them. Pre-existing images and photographs that will be created on the spot will serve as the material for group digital collages within a safe and creative environment.

WORKSHOP INCLUDES

An introduction to the basic
principles of photography

A short tour of the exhibition

A session in the Workshop Room

Where students will photograph in small groups. Using tablets and the Pic Collage app (3–4 students per device), the children will create a collage, using a format inspired by the works of Marlene Dumas.
