“Cyclades – The Raw Materials”
AUDIOVISUAL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY

THE ACTIVITY
Kids will have the opportunity to learn the basic principles of photography and leave their own photographic imprint. The participants will be introduced to the basic principles of art and photography, the triangle of the exhibition, the framing composition, the golden ratio, the way a camera and lighting work. Following that, they will be asked to choose some fruit, an herb, raw materials which are part of their daily eating habits. They choose the way they will compose their image, the photo shooting takes place and after that they prepare a short text to accompany their photographs. They can create more than one image as long as they make up a single photographic artwork.
After that, they will learn how to edit images using professional software (Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom). They will edit and finalize their images and will also create their own works. Kids become creators, photographers and copywriters.

ABOUT CINEMATHESIS
Cinemathesis is a civil non-profit company in the field of culture with experienced and specialized professionals in the field of cinema, arts and education, registered in the portal of cultural institutions of the Ministry of Culture. The educational programmes organized by Cinemathesis have great social impact and are under the auspices and support of the Ministry of Culture, approved by the Ministry of Education and are implemented with the kind support and participation of different authorities, prefectures, and municipalities all over Greece. The organization has led targeted and innovative educational actions for kids and youngsters through a holistic approach to Fine Arts, game and a variety of audiovisual and cinematographic techniques. The beneficiaries of these actions are kids and youngsters exclusively.
This workshop is part of the parallel activities organized in the framework of the photography exhibition Foodprint at EMST. The exhibition runs from the 14th of September to the 29th of October 2023.
