Daytrip to Aegina Island

The first stop was the house and atelier of the renowned artist Costas Varotsos. The artist shared anecdotes about his lifework. The excursion continued with a visit to Rodakis Residence, one of the most important monuments of the newest cultural heritage of Aegina.

The architect and current owner of the house Dionisis Sotovikis walked the Young Patrons through this excellent example of traditional local architecture. The next stop was a visit to the Temple of Aphaia and the Archaeological Museum accompanied by a guided tour from the Museum’s archaeologist Marietta Kypriotaki followed by lunch. The day concluded with a visit to the house of the painter Nikos Nikolaou where a tour was given by Daphne Zoumboulakis.
