THE PROGRAM

The answers to such questions shall be delivered during the Museum of Cycladic Art program “Gods and Heroes”. The abduction of Europa by Zeus, scenes from Gigantomachy, the apotheosis of Hercules, Apollo with his lyre, the armed Athena goddess and other performances “narrate” ancient Greek stories.

Upon attending a screening, children are invited to visit the museum’s “Scenes from everyday life to antiquity” exhibition. Vase representations, statuettes and other exhibits offer students the opportunity to learn about the gods, heroes and the myth of Europe. During the visit, children use documents containing various activities that will enable them to discover selected exhibits in a collaborative, interactive way.

Accompanying teacher participation is compulsory throughout the duration of the visit.
