Friendship clubs at the Museum
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
FOR PEOPLE OVER 60
THE PROGRAM
From March 2025 to March 2026, the program is carried out in collaboration with the Elderly Friendship Clubs of the Municipality of Athens and includes weekly, free, organized tours led by a museum archaeologist to the permanent collections or to a temporary exhibition.
The visit also includes free transportation to and from the Museum, as well as a warm welcome with a treat at the Cycladic Café, where the visitors can socialize and have a good time.
Since 2016, the Museum has been a pioneer in developing and implementing programs for people over 65 years of age, both in and out of the Museum. The programs have included guided tours and workshops for Open Care Center for the Elderly (KAPI) or Friendship Clubs of various Municipalities in Attica region, as well as workshops in non-profit nursing homes for those unable to visit the Museum. To date, over 15,000 people have benefited from these programs
The program is implemented with the support of Motor Oil.
