Sacred Concrete – The Churches of Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier not only devoted part of his work to the design and construction of churches, but he also developed a deep commitment to religion and faith, thus his work had a great impact on the ecclesiastical architecture of the 20th century. This book explains the relationship that Le Corbusier had with religion; it showcases the designs he made for La Sainte-Baume, the chapel of Notre Dame du Haut de Ronchamp, the monastery of La Tourette and St Peter’s church, and it investigates his impact on modern ecclesiastical architecture that later developed in Europe.
