Pencil Holder with Violin-Shaped Figurine

Square pencil holder with a Cycladic violin-shaped figurine. The “violin-shaped figurines” were so named because their design resembles the shape of a violin. The long neck, narrow waist and hips all point to the female body. They probably served as amulets or magical symbols.
