Engraved Tray
€70.00
Square tray with a motif inspired by the Cycladic “frying-pan vases”.
The frying pan is so named because of its shape. Its use in antiquity remains puzzling to this day. These vases, made of ceramic or stone, were decorated with engraved representations: spirals like the waves of the sea, ships, fish, stars and suns, elements particularly dear to islanders and sailors.
