The Corinthian helmet is undoubtedly the most characteristic type of Greek helmet.
It first appeared in the late 8th century BC and remained in use until the Classical period, when it gradually gave way to the so-called Pylos type, which was less obstructive for the vision and the hearing of the warriors.
