Aphrodite Box

Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was born in the foam of the sea. On a huge shell, the wind carried her the island of  Kythera and then to Cyprus. There she was welcomed by the Hours who offered her a wreath and led her to Olympus, where the gods were impressed by her beauty. Her sacred symbols were the white doves, the apple, the poppy, the pomegranate, the rose, the myrtle and the anemone.
