The Antikythera Mechanism belongs to the array of precious findings retrieved from the ancient shipwreck at the homonymous site in 1900. It is the oldest known complex mechanical computer, used to determine the positions of the Sun and the Moon and possibly some major planets. The Antikythera Mechanism is considered the first known analog computer of humanity and is dated between 150 – 100 BCE.
