This was in expiation for Herakles\u2019 murder of his own children. The king assigned him twelve dangerous missions, the so-called \u2018Twelve Labours of Herakles\u2019, the first of which was to get rid of the Nemean lion.<\/p>\n<p>The scene is attended by Athena to the right, and to the left by two male figures, probably the god Hermes and a warrior.<\/p>\n\n  <!-- Rich Text Editor Start -->\n  <\/div>\n\n                  <\/div>\n    <div class=\"right
