\n The central showpiece of this small tribute was El Greco\u2019s painting The Burial of Christ of the National Gallery of Athens.\n <\/div>\n \n \n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n

The painting was accompanied by two Pieta (Lamentation)<\/strong>. The first one belongs to the collection of the Hispanic Society ofAmerica<\/a> and the second one to a private collection. Both works were exhibited digitally in almost actual size.<\/p>\n

The simultaneous presentation of the works of El Greco along with the archaeological exhibition \u2018Beyond\u2019<\/strong> invited the visitors to see together diverse masterpieces that touch upon a common, universal theme: death and immortality of the soul. The visitor was be able to find interesting correlations through a number of different prisms: time, religion, society.<\/p>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
