\n Cycladic art \u2013 with its anthropocentric character, which is expressed through perfection in proportion and form \u2013 has often been discussed as a significant influence for early 20th century sculpture. \n <\/div>\n \n \n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n

By the last quarter of the 19th century, artists began to explore the creations of earlier or so-called \u2018primitive\u2019 civilizations, which were shown in several museums and ethnological collections around the world.<\/p>\n

There was also a growing interest in the essence of things; many artists wanted to return to the origins of creative possibilities and therefore experimented with eliminations, reductions, abstraction, and refinements.<\/p>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n
