\n “In touch” program was designed to enable people with sensory disabilities (visual and auditory) to visit the Museum of Cycladic Art permanent exhibition. \n <\/div>\n \n \n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n

The program was implemented in the framework of the European Union Erasmus+ programs and was implemented with the support of our strategic partner, Eurolife FFH.<\/p>\n

Designed in close collaboration with the non-profit organization “Me Alla Matia” and HandsUp – the first sign language interpreting agency in Greece – and launched after a successful pilot project with focus groups of people with sensory disabilities<\/p>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

MOBILE HAPTIC DISPLAY<\/h2> <\/header>\n\n \n

For the visually impaired, a mobile haptic display case was designed to offer the visitor a tour of the Cycladic Art exhibition.\u00a0 The display case consists of drawer cases containing copies of selected exhibits made of marble or resin.<\/p>\n

Visitors receive information about Cyclades and the Cycladic Culture via interactive haptic maps of Greece and the Cyclades and texts in Braille code and large-font prints. The display also includes a haptic room floor plan indicating the path that the visitor should follow with the help of his\/her companion.<\/p>\n

For more information about the use of the haptic display case, interested parties are invited to contact the Museum\u2019s entrance staff. The haptic display case contains instructions for the visitor\u2019s companion. The program is free of charge.<\/p>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n
