PRESSE PAPIER | SEXTANT

80

Description

Item inspired by the navigation instrument which in the past was necessary for the navy. With the sextant they could find their position on earth (stigma) and they mainly used it in open sea.

The primary use of a sextant was to measure the angle between an astronomical object and the horizon for the purposes of celestial navigation. The first instruments used for measuring these angles were the astrolabes. Sextant replaced the astrolabe.
