Le Corbusier not only devoted part of his work to the design and construction of churches, but he also developed a deep commitment to religion and faith, thus his work had a great impact on the ecclesiastical architecture of the 20th century. This book explains the relationship that Le Corbusier had with religion; it showcases the designs he made for La Sainte-Baume, the chapel of Notre Dame du Haut de Ronchamp, the monastery of La Tourette and St Peter’s church, and it investigates his impact on modern ecclesiastical architecture that later developed in Europe. Some examples are the Jubilee Church by Richard Meier, Steven Holl’s St Ignatius Chapel, the Church of Santa María de Álvaro Siza, Tadao Ando’s Meditation Space and the Chapel of Reconciliation by Reitermann &amp; Sassenroth.

Time mobilises Art. If there is one thing we gained during the coronavirus lockdown, it was that we redefined our relationship with time. Nomas 13 explores the connection of time and contemporary art. Artists from all over the world create original work about time for Nomas, or contribute existing projects relating to time. 

This journey across contemporary Art got expanded thanks to the contribution of Dakis Joannou and DESTE Foundation and the Artistic Director of New Museum in New York Massimiliano Gioni; the French Art historian and curator Frédéric Bonnet; the managing director of Eleusis 2021 Maria Panayides and the art historian and curator Panos Yiannikopoulos. 





NOMAS No13 is a special issue, not only because we thought of 13 as the ideal number to start our new collaboration with Bureau Borsche, the studio of the outstanding German designer Mirko Borsche, but also because it leaves a collectable mark on time. It is a Noah‘s Ark of the precious things highlighted by the lockdown forced upon us by the coronavirus. Browsing through its pages, one may feel like embarking on a journey via contemporary art.
