Maria Basagianni

Contemporary Art Exhibition Manager

Maria Basagianni was born in Athens in 1981 and has graduated from the Athens University of Economics and Business. She has earned a master’s degree in Arts & Heritage Management, University of Sheffield, UK and continued her postgraduate studies in Art History at the University of London with a scholarship by the Onassis Cultural Benefit Foundation.

She has been employed at the Communication & Development Department of the Museum of Cycladic Art since 2005, where she has worked for the Press office and Communication and has been Head of the Cycladic Friends from 2009-2019. Since 2011 she has undertaken the exhibition management of contemporary art exhibitions, including works by Ai Weiwei, Cy Twombly, Jannis Kounellis and Ugo Rondinone.
